On this post I will tell you my opinion about these Wireless active noise-cancelling headphones called ActiveBeat 2.0.
These are oval over-ear headphones that sound really great, and they are one of the best headphones I’ve ever tried. Let me tell why…
First, the building quality is outstanding! Really these are very well-built headphones and look way more expensive than they actually are.
The ear cups are made of aviation-level plastic painted in silver looking pane, so they do look metal, but are not heavy at all. But the hinges that hold the ear cups in place are metal, and everything else you see is metal. So it is a sturdy gadget.
ActivBeat 2.0 Functionalities
The right ear is home for the controls:
– Multi functional buttons: volume up and down and track forward and backwards buttons;
– noise cancelling switch;
– power on/off button;
– built-in microphone to make and receive phone calls.
The multi functional buttons are used to play/pause music and to answer and hang-up calls. They can dial the last number as well.
The noise cancellation is just awesome! It cancels any humming noise around me, so if I am on a train, a plane, or even at the office or at home, these headphones will give me some extra peace and quiet.
ActivBeat 2.0 can also be used as wired headphones using the included 3.5 millimeter to USB type-c cable. So yes, I could use them as wireless and also as wired headphones.
However it is not possible to use the headphones for phone calls when using the cable because this cable does not have an inline mic.
These headphones fit very well and are really comfortable. These are over the ear headphones which means they fully cover your ear with soft ear pads that are well designed.
The top of the headphones has a nice thick padding for your head. Adjustable and flexible the ActivBeat 2.0 will fit most people.
Because of the comfort, they are good to be used for longer periods of time.
The battery life is great with about 16 hours of music time. I use them on a single charge on and off for over a week.
Charging them from completely empty to full took about 1.5 hour and using a USB port on my computer and not a power outlet. That is pretty fast!
Sound Quality for ActivBeat 2.0
ActivBeat 2.0 produces a powerful and balanced sound, and they are loud. Music becomes very enjoyable through these headphones.
I often found that headphones in this price range tend to have too much bass and not enough treble, but not these guys. They are very well balanced
Usually on active noise-cancelling headphones, when you switch the noise canceling on, the sound quality will take a little hit: the bass will go down and everything will be less rich in your ears… the music will still be there but it is just lot more flat. That hit does not happen with ActivBeat 2.0, and even with noise cancelling on, the music keeps its quality.
The headphones are not foldable, but they do rotate around 180 degrees so the ear cups end up facing outwards. This is useful when I am listening to music but also want to hear what’s going on around me.
What is my take on ActivBeat 2.0?
I just love these headphones, they are well built, great quality, the sound is close to perfection, and I can use them to make phone calls.
But what I like the most is the price! For less than a 100 dollars I got active noise-cancelling bluetooth and wired premium built great-sounding over ear headphones. This is a lot of value for your money.
I was looking for similar headphones in the market, and those that had the ActiveBeat quality are in the $300 range. I did not pay half of that on these headphones, that’s because the manufacturer has a 50% discount sale on its official website.
Where to buy?
I purchased the ActivBeat 2.0 on the company’s official website. My purchase was made without any hassle, it was quick and on a secure site. The headphones took about 9 days to get to my house. Yes, it took a while, but it was worth it, for the price and for the product itself. The company provided me with all the data regarding delivery and I did not have any problems during the whole process.
